Rinnai Water Heater

Rinnai Water HeaterI think I should begin this tankless water heater review by admitting that part of my draw to the Rinnai water heater was the really cool look of this tankless system. Not that you see your hot water heater very often, but this just looked more professional and like something designed to last for a long time. However I did ask my neighbor, who is a plumber, for advice on the best tankless water heater for my house and after he took a few details such as my daily usage and current capacity of my old water tank, he came up with a shortlist which included the Rinnai RL75In. I went ahead and bought it immediately and two months later I couldn’t be happier with the tankless system. I can run multiple appliances without having to worry about running out of hot water. The Rinnai water heater has changed my entire daily schedule in that I no longer have to have one!

I talked my husband into going tankless in two ways. First, I showed him how much it was going to be to replace our current water heater and the deal we could get on the Rinnai hot water heaters on Amazon. Then I showed him all the money we would get back for the energy efficient incentives and I figured out what we would likely save over the first year. If the number did not convince him we needed a Rinnai hot water heater, the ripping up of the shower schedule certainly did. With the tankless water heater, he never had to worry about being the last in the shower again as there would still be plenty of hot water.

I love the fact that I can run appliances while someone is in the shower. As I am constantly doing laundry, this was a big selling point for me. In addition, as the one often dead last getting in the shower, I don’t have to wait an hour or so to make that happen. This makes my entire day run more smoothly. I find my entire schedule is easier to work and I now have an extra closet since our large 50-gallon tank is gone. Who knew I could get extra closet space without a remodel?

It is a little frustrating in the kitchen when I go to wash my hands. The delay on getting hot water is between 20-60 seconds as that is how long it takes to heat the first batch. Now, this is not a lot of time, but when you are standing in front of the sink waiting for the water to get hot, it can seem like an eternity. I was very frustrated at first, but now I just turn on the faucet a bit earlier. I know this probably isn’t as water efficient as it should be, but it saves the waiting.

The Rinnai water heater has without doubt made our lives a lot easier. We had someone install it and it wasn’t expensive at all. Our gas company gave us a kickback for switching to a gas water heater and the amount was larger for going tankless. Our gas bill has hardly changed and our electric bill has dropped significantly. All in all I would recommend the Rinnai water heater to anyone looking to make the switch to tankless, it is very much worth it. Even though I was lucky enough to have a neighbor who knew quite a lot about all things water related, don’t underestimate the power of simply looking at and taking into account the best tankless water heater reviews from all over the net, whether it’s on this site, Amazon, Consumer Reports, or elsewhere. If you do your due diligence you can save yourself a bundle in heating bills over the course of the year.

Tankless Gas Water Heater Bosch Aquastar

Tankless Gas Water Heater Bosch AquastarI don’t know what it took me so long to get on board with the idea of a heater, maybe because it seemed improbable that it could really work, even as thousands upon thousands of people writing positive tankless water heater reviews all over the net attested to their quality, but I ignored my initial skepticism out of sheer desperation for a heating solution and am now so glad we switched out our water heater to the Bosch Aquastar. We now have endless hot water and I can run the dishwasher while my husband takes a shower. I no longer have to plan all our activities around when we will have hot water again. We have a large family, so there was always a fight over the shower, but now that we have a tankless gas water heater, there is no trouble at all. It takes up very little space and consistently provides water at the perfect temperature. While the Bosch Aquastar is certainly among the most expensive of the tankless water heaters currently around, it is also arguably the best tankless water heater out there. The general consensus seems to be: If you can afford it, get it, because it’s worth it.

Buy the Bosch Aquastar now on Amazon with 32% savings off the list price.

Features of the Bosch Aquastar tankless gas water heater:

  • Can deliver up to 7.2 gallons of water every 50 to 90 minutes
  • Supplies more than 2 major appliances at once
  • Qualifies for the US Federal Tax Credit for energy efficient appliances
  • Can save more than 45% on your utility costs every year
  • You can vent the heater horizontally or vertically
  • Is significantly smaller than a traditional water heater, freeing up valuable closet space
  • 20 year life expectancy
  • Endless hot water
  • 12 year warranty on heat exchanger
  • 2 year warranty on parts
  • Temperature setting thermostat

Our house goes through tons of hot water, so a tankless gas water heater seemed like the perfect option. We actually switched from an electric standard water heater so we saw the savings in our energy bill immediately. My husband had no trouble putting in the device but he did hire a plumber to help with proper venting because he was not comfortable determining the right way to do it given the fact we were going with gas. I am so happy to have endless hot water and I never have to worry about accidentally freezing someone out of the shower because I turn on the dishwasher. This lets me get the kitchen cleaned in a more timely fashion while everyone still moves forward with their days. Yes, of course, I had read about conveniences like this in the tankless water heater reviews that I perused before we bought the Bosch Aquastar, but there is nothing quite like experiencing it for the first time.

I love the fact we never run out of hot water but I do get a bit frustrated with the initial water delivery as it takes about 20 seconds to heat up. Now this isn’t much time when you are talking about setting up a shower or starting laundry, but for hand washing it does seem like a long wait. I have gotten used to turning on the sink a little before I need it when I am cleaning up in the kitchen. Given that this is really my only complaint, I guess I have to admit I could be a little more patient.

If you want a product that is worth the extra money, you should consider the Bosch Aquastar tankless hot water heater. I think within the first two years we will have saved enough money from our electric bill to make the cost of the system and the installation a wash. That means a lower housing budget from now until when we have to replace it. The Bosch Aquastar tankless water heater reviews helped us decide what to go with when it came to brand. While some people seem to have trouble with the brand, everyone who likes Bosch loves it and so do we. I haven’t ever had to deal with customer service, which must mean the design of the heater is pretty dead on. It seems like every other brand requires a few calls to the help line. I am thrilled with our choice and I never want to go back to a traditional water heater, I am sold on the tankless method and this particular model forever, even though the cost was a lot more than cheaper alternatives.

Rheem Water Heater Reviews

Rheem Water Heater ReviewsWe went over many options and so many tankless water heater reviews before settling on the Rheem 22v50F1 water heater for our home. We considered going tankless, but in the end what we really needed was just a greater capacity. By upgrading to the 50-gallon system, we got just enough additional water to cover all of our hot water needs and we spent much less money than we would have on one of the pricey tankless water heating systems. I am thrilled with how the Rheem lives up to the Rheem water heater reviews we read on Amazon and I no longer worry about ending up in a cold shower.

Buy the Rheem water heater on Amazon now and get 13% savings off the original price.

Features of the Rheem water heater:

  • 50 gallon hot water capacity
  • High Altitude compliant
  • Six-year parts and tank warranty from the parent company
  • Low standards of nitrogen oxide, meaning you won’t have emissions issues with the tanks.
  • Self-cleaning with the Everkleen patented system which prevents the build-up of sediments
  • Fuel/air shut-off device giving you two ways to protect against a malfunction.
  • Runs on natural gas
  • Reduces energy costs, lowers electric bill
  • Temperature and pressure gauge and relief valve should you need to change anything

I had another Rheem water heater for over 18-years. I Never had a single maintenance issue or problem it was just time to replace it for a larger capacity machine and I really didn’t look any further than Rheem for its successor since I had such a positive experience with my previous hot water heater. It was easy to install, easy to turn on and works perfectly. Rheem has a reputation of being one of the best tankless water heater manufacturers out there and my experience with both of the Rheem heaters I have owned so far in my life have been consistent with that.

I love having the extra ten gallons in the tank. I don’t run out of water all that often, but now that I have upgraded I never run out of hot water. It is so nice to have that extra security when you are in the shower. I was also surprised to discover that my propane bill went down. Whether that is the Rheem water heater being more efficient just because it is new or if Rheem has developed more efficient ways of heating the water, I do not know. I guess time will tell if the propane bill begins to creep back up, but for now I am very pleased.

I was a bit nervous about ordering the water heater from Amazon due to the high cost of water heaters in general, but I read many of the Rheem tankless water heater reviews which put me at ease and it turns out I am pretty glad I took the plunge. Not only did this tankless water heater save me a decent chunk of change, it was great to find the water heater sitting on my doorstep with no additional delivery fees or problems. I was lucky in that I had all the things I needed to install the Rheem water heater. I have a friend who went to install a heater who also lives in California and due to all the union regulations you had to be a licensed plumber to get the parts necessary. I would suggest doing some research in your area to find out if you are going to need anything special and where you might be able to get the parts. He ended up ordering them online, so that’s a nice way to get around the requirements.

The Rheem water heater also seems to be quieter than the former model. I don’t hear the pump when it clicks on during or after a shower. I never really noticed how loud it was before but I am thrilled that it makes no noise now! I am very happy with my Rheem water heater purchase and I believe I will be brand loyal forever.

Stiebel Eltron Tempra

Stiebel Eltron TempraInitially quite skeptical about this whole “tankless water heater” phenomenon, on the advice of my husband I read some tankless water heater reviews on Amazon and I am now very much content with our purchase of the Stiebel Eltron – so much so that I have no idea why it took me so long to say agree to getting on in the first place. Not only has this heater given me an entire closet back, our electricity bill has gone down a ton making this an investment that will pay for itself in no time. In addition, as the person in the house who enjoys ridiculously long showers, I now never have to worry about running out of hot water. I could sit in there all day and stay perfectly warm and cozy. The Stiebel Eltron Tempra has made a huge difference in our lives. Of course, I am unable to say whether this particular heater is the absolute best tankless water heater out there, given the fact that this is my first one, but my own personal experience coupled with the tankless water heater reviews written for the Stiebel Eltron suggest that this is one of the leaders in this category.

Buy the Stiebel Eltron on Amazon today and access $245.00 savings off the original price.

Features of the Stiebel Eltron:

  • Digital temperature control so you know exactly how hot the water coming out is
  • No venting required for the heater itself
  • Small, compact design so it fits many places
  • Reduces electric bill costs by not heating an entire tank
  • Uses mini-circuit breaker for protection
  • Can handle water output for multiple locations
  • Total weight is 16.4 pounds

Prior to installing the Stiebel Eltron tankless water heater, there were constant arguments in our house as to what the order of showers was going to be and who had to get up earlier. Even with planning there seemed to be no way to make the water last for everyone if we wanted to all shower in the morning. We are only a family of four, so I cannot imagine what larger families do. Couple that with my son always putting demands on not running the dishwasher because he might want to shower at night, and I felt like I was the time police, constantly worried about running out of hot water. It was these arguments that prompted my husband to research various solutions to our heating problems and unbeknown to me, he set himself on tankless water heaters and began to scour through the hundreds of tankless water heater reviews available online before presenting his favorite to me for consideration. This is because, of course, with any purchase as expensive as this, it has to be agreed by both of us or it is not allowed to happen! Despite my trepidation, he assured me that this was, in his opinion, the best tankless water heater we could afford and the benefits would soon outweigh the costs, not just financially but in our quality of life as well.

Soon after we made the purchase and installed the heater, the Stiebel Eltron Tempra began to change everything, this much was becoming apparent. We now have all the hot water we want instantly. My husband was able to install the machine himself because no venting was required. Now, I have a whole closet in the front of the house to store cleaning products because the large water heater is gone. We set the temperature rather high at first and gradually adjusted it down. I have found we tend to like a hotter temperature in the winter and a lower one in the summer to account for outside heat. I have never had so much control over my hot-water needs!

We did end up putting in a bigger breaker box as the new Stiebel Eltron kept tripping the breaker, but it was a small price to pay for all the positives we have encountered with the hot water heater. I thought after time the water might not heat as well, but Stiebel has really worked out all the kinks. The water flows directly over the heating unit and into the pipes, providing the right temperature of water every time. You don’t realize how much anxiety you have every time you are in the shower and you keep expecting the hot water to go out. I now don’t have to worry about anything, and the water stays hot the whole time. I also like to hand wash dishes and with the Stiebel hot water heater I never run out of hot water then either. It was such a small change that altered how I viewed the house. I am now looking everywhere to try and figure out what else technology could improve. I would definitely recommend the Stiebel hot water heater to anyone who is looking into tankless water heater options. Though, since it’s a large purchase, you should let your other half know beforehand and don’t forget to browse a few more tankless water heater reviews on Amazon and elsewhere before you buy.

Rheem Gas Water Heater

Rheem Gas Water HeaterThe 40 gallon Rheem gas water heater has provided more consistent hot water than any hot water heater I have ever had. I have come from a long background of electric water heaters, so I think the gas is part of the difference, but this water heater is ridiculously quiet and always produces water at the perfect temperature. Despite the glowing tankless water heater reviews that this particular Rheem model had received on Amazon, I was nonetheless worried when we first started looking at the Rheem gas water heaters, because I didn’t want to branch out from electric, but I now love my electric bill and while I didn’t notice how loud the water heater was before, I definitely notice the sound difference now. I no longer wake up when someone takes a shower!

Buy the Rheem gas water heater now on Amazon and get a 23% saving from the original price!

Features of the Rheem gas water heater:

  • 40 gallon capacity with natural gas heating inputs
  • A self-cleaning system so you don’t have to empty it every year to prevent sediment build up.
  • Works at high altitude
  • 6 year tank and parts warranty from Rheem
  • Low Nitrogen Oxide emissions, meeting the emission standards for most places, some cities and counties in California have more stringent policies, so verify compliance prior to purchase.

When our old water heater finally conked out, I had to give into my husband and start looking at the Rheem gas water heaters. Truth is, I didn’t want to take the time to rewire our home so that the water heater could run off of gas as well. Whoever built our house strangely gave us an electric water heater even though we have gas heat, a gas stove and a gas dryer. The electric water heater always bothered my husband and he was trying to get me to change it out for years, often to the point of him throwing pages upon pages of gas tankless water heater reviews on my bedside which, of course, I never read. But finally after a particularly cold winter and some very uncomfortable hot water situations, I took notice, and now I couldn’t be happier with our decision to go with the Rheem gas water heater.

I was really happy when I saw the fuel/air shut off device and how easy it was to use. As a mother, I am constantly worried about fires and problems with the gas and this gave me added peace of mind when we installed the Rheem gas water heater. The brass drain valve is also nice as we sometimes leave town for multiple months and we can leave the water heater off and half full instead of wasting all that gas keeping the water hot.

Rheem gas water heaters are easy to install, as my husband and I did it. We did have to hire a professional to rewire the gas system, but we were able to install the heater with no trouble what-so-ever. I was shocked at how simple Rheem made the process. Our old water heater died due to rusting out on the bottom. The magnesium anode rod is what helps prevent sediment in the Rheem gas water heater and it is supposed to prevent rust as well, so we are hoping this water heater will last us as long as we own the house.

I did find the pilot flame a little difficult to ignite which made me worried. Since then I have come to understand the process better so I think my annoyance was lack of understanding. Other than that, my Rheem gas water heater has been the best tankless water heater I could have imagined and I am glad we took the time to get everything in the house on propane, what a money saver from one of the best names in the tankless water heater business. I am quite relieved that we went through the inconvenient switch from electric to gas in order to accommodate this heater as we now no longer have any water heating problems at all which is a great source of comfort for us all.

Reliance Water Heater

Reliance Water HeaterThe Reliance water heater, six-gallon, has been a life saver. We installed it under the kitchen sink and I now have instant access to hot water to wash my hands, do dishes and clean up after meals. It saves me tons of time and I can’t get over how easy it was to install. We went with the larger capacity Reliance hot water heater model because we don’t have a dishwasher and I wanted to be able to do dishes without having to hook it up to the main water heater. I now can get through the cleaning process in no time and I never run out of hot water for my needs. The first thing you will probably notice about this Reliance water heater is that it is significantly cheaper than conventional water heating solutions, so this should always be taken into account when you read the tankless water heater reviews on this particular model, or when you compare the ratings of the Reliance water heater to ratings of another heater. Remember, customers are often a lot harsher in their reviews if they paid a lot of money for it. Similarly, while many customers may say that the Reliance water heater is the best tankless water heater out there, bear in mind that they really mean to add “for under 200 dollars”, because you would certainly get better quality if you paid 800 bucks for a higher end heater. That’s not to say, however, that the Reliance water heater is at all poor quality, on the contrary in fact, it is reliable and stable far beyond its meager price of less than 190 dollars.

Buy now on Amazon via this link and get 11% savings off the original price.

Features of the Reliance hot water heater:

  • Six gallon tank on a short profile so you can fit it under a sink
  • Hot water outlet
  • Cold water inlet mounted at the side
  • Single 120 volt, 1650 watt heating element to get the water heated
  • Pressure and temperature relief valve if you ever have an issue with the heater.
  • Parts and tank warranty of more than 5 years

I was doubtful when I looked into the Reliance water heater for under the sink. Basically, our water heater does well to serve our bathrooms as its location sits quite near both the showers and the sinks in that portion of the house. Truthfully, that is where we need sustained hot water but I was tired of waiting forever for my hot water to make it all the way to the kitchen. My husband thought I was just being crazy until I put him on kitchen duty for a week and he realized how hard it was to just wash a dish. We then decided on finding a slightly larger, under the counter water heater and ended up on the Reliance hot water heater.

My husband had no issues getting the Reliance water heater installed and like that Reliance water heaters seemed to function more like traditional, larger water heaters than some of the other point-of-service water heaters. He is keen on safety and having a release valve which the Reliance water heater provided. In addition, having the side spigot was something he was interested in for filtering hot water to other places. While I have never seen him use this particular feature, it was a sales point for him.

I feel our electric bill has gone down since we have put in the smaller water heater. It is the one that gets used the most and it seems to be easier to heat just a small amount of water rather than pulling water from our large heater and having it have to reheat. Plus I can only imagine how much hot water gets wasted by sitting in the piping and just cooling off when we turn off the hot water in the kitchen.

The only thing that you should be careful about is how much space it takes under the counter. I had to find a new place to store many cleaning supplies as they can no longer fit underneath the sink. This is probably a small price to pay for all the time I save when it comes to being able to quickly do my dishes or clean up the kitchen. It took a little getting used to but in the end has been very worth it. I am glad we settled on the larger Reliance water heater as it is the perfect choice for our family and my needs as the homemaker.

Bosch Water Heater GL4

Bosch Water HeaterI have an old house with lots of underground piping so the Bosch water heater was the perfect solution to my lack of warm water at the sink. Bosch water heaters seem to be known for lasting a long time and providing the perfect temperature of water and my experience with the Bosch GL4 seems right on par with what all the Bosch tankless water heater reviews on Amazon that I read before I made my purchase. I am so happy to be able to turn on the hot water spigot on my sink and get water quickly and efficiently. Prior to installing this 4-gallon wonder I had to wait for a full five minutes for my water heater to be able to pump water through our extensive basement piping in order to get the smallest amount of warmth in the water, but this point-of-service water heater changes all of that. While I wouldn’t say that you can get the undisputed best tankless water heater on the market for under 170 dollars, I would say that, with the GL4 electric water heater, Bosch definitely lives up to its name as one of the world’s leading heavyweights in household tools and electronics.

Buy the Bosch Water Heater on Amazon right now and get 14% savings on the original price!

Features:

  • 4-gallon tank at the point-of-service
  • You can plug in the system, you do not have to hard wire it to your electrical system
  • May be installed independently or in conjunction with your hot water heater
  • Requires 1500 watts, 120 volts
  • Parts warranty of 12 months
  • Heat exchanger warranty of more than 5 years
  • 17 pounds total weight

You never think about how important instant hot water might be, until it is the dead of winter and you can’t wash your hands without waiting for five to ten minutes. I know much of this has to do with the location of my home and the placement of the pipes. Changing the plumbing in my entire house is not an option, but installing a small Bosch GL4 seemed doable and like it might be a solution to waiting for hot water all the time. Even though I knew what the machine did, I don’t think I ever expected it to work so well, even after reading some of the glowing GL4 tankless water heater reviews on Amazon.

The Bosch water heater works well for washing a few dishes or just cleaning your hands. I find I use it most to get hot water on a sponge to clean the counters or for rinsing my hands while I am preparing something in the kitchen. The capacity on the Bosch water heater is limited, only four gallons, but you can hook it up through your larger hot water heater. This gives you instant hot and then sustained access to hot water from your larger heater. I chose to install mine separately which I find nice because I don’t have to worry about diverting hot water from someone in the shower. That being said, it doesn’t take long to blow through four gallons of water.

My husband found the installation process easy. The fact that you can plug Bosch water heaters directly into an existing outlet took a majority of the hard work out of the process. So many other machines require you to open the wall and directly wire them into the power system of the house. This would have required hiring someone to install it. My husband was more than comfortable working with the pipes and then it was a simple plug-in and we were up and running. It sounds silly but the access to hot water really has changed things for me. I feel like I get the kitchen cleaned faster and I wash my hands more, which I know helps prevent illness in the dead of winter. I recommend the Bosch water heater to anyone looking for an instant hot water solution.

Ariston Water Heater

Ariston Water HeaterThe Ariston water heater made by Bosch is meant to take up less space than a traditional water heater. The Bosch tankless water heater sits directly under the sink where you need hot water often and quickly. This saves time and energy when you are looking to use hot water for any type of work in the home. The Bosch tankless water heater review page on Amazon lets you know there are three different sizes, all designed to be space-saving. You can choose from 2.5 gallon, 4 gallon and 6+gallons. All of the water heaters provide quick access to hot water and feature great insulation so they are more efficient than other hot water heaters.

Buy the Ariston water heater today on Amazon and get 15% savings on the original price.

Features:

  • You can have instant access to 2.5 gallons of water for a single sink.
  • Space-saving design draws power from a standard outlet for easy installation.
  • Can be combined with a larger water system.
  • Allows showers to be used in the home and not be affected by the use of other sinks.
  • Glass-lined tank, which extends the life of the water heater.
  • The 2.5 galloon tank is 14-inches by 14-inches and weighs approximately 16 pounds.

It might not seem like a big thing to have instant access on your sinks to hot water, but when you live in a very cold place and have children, you don’t always have time to wait for the water to heat up. We have an older home with pipes that run through the basement. In the dead of winter the water in the pipes is fairly cold, close to freezing. Before we installed the Ariston water heater we would have to run the water full blast for at least 30 seconds prior to having even warm water. This meant washing your hands after going to the bathroom or preparing meals took longer than it should. Getting kids to be patient enough to wash their hands was a constant challenge and argument. Now, we have instant hot water from the tank under the sink and it is so easy to get clean quickly.

In addition, I no longer have to worry about who is in the shower when I go to turn on the hot water. We left our system entirely separate so that I can be doing stuff in the kitchen and not freeze out my husband if he is getting washed up after work. We have thought about combining it with the rest of the system, but we don’t seem to ever need more than the 2.5 gallons at once, which means we don’t need to go to the extra trouble of hooking it up to the larger system. I can’t imagine a time where I would need more than that amount of water from the kitchen sink. We do use the kitchen sink much more often now as the kids tend to come straight from the bathroom to where they can get the warm water. That being said, we might check out further Bosch tankless water heater reviews to decide what size we might want to put in the bathroom. In that case we might actually peg it into the bigger system.

I believe the company has made installation just about as easy as it can be, but it still isn’t simple. If you plan on putting it in yourself, it is important to thoroughly measure the space and consider how you can hook the heater into place. It is actually quite difficult to contort under the sink in order to get the machine in place. Our cabinetry is a little different than others and we had to go to the hardware store multiple times to figure out the right hardware to actually connect the Artisan water heater into place.

The other thing I really love is the thermostat on the Ariston water heater. When I looked over the Bosch water heater review I found it interesting that you could control the temperature. This was especially important with the small children. I tend to forget that I can handle hotter water than they can and I was able to adjust the temperature down. This makes it so I don’t have to worry about them scalding themselves or each other. I did have a little trouble finding the right outlet for the water heater as I needed 1500 watts that would not blow a circuit breaker if I was running other appliances. I did finally consult an electrician to change some wiring to make sure the Ariston water heater would have enough power without any trouble from other devices in the house. Of course, the Ariston is not the best tankless water heater of them all when you compare it to monsters like the Bosch Aquastar, but for under $200 it does exactly what we need it to and we couldn’t be happier.
